Thomas Cooper “T” Welch, V, 30, died Sunday, April 28, 2019.
The Ft. Lewis, WA native was a longtime resident of Savannah.
T courageously fought in the Global War on Terrorism by serving with the 1st Battalion, 8 Marines. He completed two tours of duty during Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan where he served as an Infantry Squad Leader. T received the following awards and commendations for his bravery, extraordinary courage, and service for his country.

Even after his discharge from the US Marine Corp, T continued to serve others. He was currently employed as a firefighter with the Savannah Fire Department.
T is survived by his parents, Tom and Mayra Welch; two brothers, Robert and John Welch; his friend, Jen Wittendorf; his Marine Corp and firefighter families; and a nation that is forever grateful for his service and sacrifice.
Graveside service with military honors will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 10, 2019 in Beaufort National Cemetery.
